PRAYER REQUEST !!
Brad Strobel's update: First we want to thank everyone for all of your prayers and kind words these past months and especially these last few days. It looks that we will not be seeing Brad and the boys much before the end of February. Immigration was not cooperative in setting up fingerprint appts for Joe and myself after multiple request from us since October. So our appts are now set for Feb 3rd. and the last issue, to our knowledge, is the fact that Bradley was not home to start his job on January 1. I have submitted documents that we hoped would satisfy this issue but our officer is not going to respond if that is acceptable or not until he receives the fingerprint report. We are working on additional employment verifications as we wait for the fingerprints that we pray will solidify the issue that he will not have any other choice but to approve the application. We do though need to continue our prayers, for Bradley will have to fly out of Uganda on Sunday to Kenya and then back into Uganda to receive a vistors visa so he will not be illegal in Uganda until we can finalize everything with immigration. So we defintely need the Lord to oversee and guide him on Sunday that all goes according to plan. Again we want to thank everyone for your love and support of our family through these trying times. In the end it will have the most wonderful gift and we will celebrate it over and over. Joe & Alice Also remember Brother Knight Brad Edward Wallace II who will be going to Kuwait to serve another tour for our freedoms.

Supreme Court rejects challenge to "under God" in
Pledge of Allegiance Knights of Columbus waged
successful defense on East and West Coast cases
June 14, 2011 - Flag Day
(NEW HAVEN, CONN.) - The United States Supreme Court has
refused to hear an appeal of a lawsuit challenging the
constitutionality of the Pledge of Allegiance, thus ending
a seven year battle involving two separate cases, one
originating in California and the other in New Hampshire.
The Knights of Columbus, represented by the Becket Fund for
Religious Liberty, played a key role in defending the Pledge
as a "defendant intervenor" in both cases.
"The Knights of Columbus is proud to have played a major role
in successfully defending the constitutionality of the words
'under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance," Supreme Knight
Carl A. Anderson said. "We were instrumental in persuading
Congress to add those words to the Pledge in 1954, and they
express a fundamental belief that we have held as a nation
since our founding, that we 'are endowed by our creator with
certain unalienable rights.' The notion that this somehow
violates the First Amendment has now been soundly rejected by
both the First and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the
Supreme Court has now allowed both decisions to stand. It is
a victory for common sense."
The Ninth Circuit upheld the constitutionality of the Pledge
in March 2010 and the Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal
of the California case in March 2011. The First Circuit
upheld the constitutionality of the Pledge in November 2011
and the Supreme Court denied certiorari in that case yesterday,
June 13, 2011.
